After thoroughly enjoying their first EP, I was eager to hear the second effort from the Californian three-piece. Opening nicely on Slowfire with a little bouncy drum beat and plodding guitar, and then suddenly a low distorted guitar comes crawling in and were back where we left off. Well almost, there are some notable changes such as a definatly more produced sound, a slightly more pronounced vocal than before and maybe overall it's not as dark as the original. But ultimately the feeling of the original is still intact; with its lush soundscapes; hypnotic grooves and atmospheric imagery. The three songs are given plenty of room to develop. Their cover of Husker Du's Powerline is superb and is a great end to another superb CD. I really hope they get round to making an album, as the evidence suggests here it would be quite a spectacular feat.
