Peel favourites& 70 s pop& Welsh& it takes just a few words to sum up this band. Much in the same style as previous release  Boom-a-Bang-Bang-Bang , it bops along at a fair pace with the clear influence of the Velvet Underground showing its head again, probably a comparison that The Loves have heard a thousand times, but they ll damn well continue to hear it with records like this.  Just Like Bobby D is a decent number, but it s not original and it s not especially clever. The band shows some promise though, but this time the track only gently tugs at the socks rather than knocking them right off.

Despite my cruelty, it s enjoyable and you ll be seeing a lot more of them after their successful supporting of New York band The Yeah Yeah Yeah s. Previous releases from The Loves are similar, but I believe with more fascination and set the toes tapping far more than this.
