Single: AM60 – Big As The Sky

With their second single release (their first was “Just a Dream”), AM60 continue their laid back sound with simple melodies and even simpler lyrics. They mix simple beats, bass and a little funk. It all sounds like they are daydreaming away on a hot summer day. The 3 tracks on this single (big as the sky, talk 2 me, and eyes on you) are all good but don’t stick in your mind much after the CD has finished. The songs could do with a bit more length and some stronger tunes, and even though the lyrics are nice and sweet they dumb down any impact the songs might have had. Despite this I do think they have got potential, not in singles but in albums. I’m sure they could pull off a worthy full length album of great summer tunes to accompany a hot lazy day, but with this single they don’t stand out enough to make an impact.
