Single: Mad Donna – The Wheels on the Bus

When I heard that they were going to release a single that made Madonna’s brilliant “Ray of Light” track sound like “The Wheels on the Bus” I got that “sickly bad” feeling. The same bad feeling like hearing a new Mariah Carey song or that Britney Spears wants to be in films (or vice versa). However, this time I’m pleased to say it could have been a lot worse. It’s quite a credible effort and really does sound like “Ray of Light” and the singer does sound a bit like Madonna too. But the best bit is the animated video, where a cartoon Madonna drives a bus; even the hardest fan would have to giggle. There is even a scary bit with a baby that has a Madonna face. As this is a kid’s single, this is bearable but I’m sure they’d be happier with a Limp Bizkit album instead. But maybe they should do more strange covers for kiddies, like “59 Bottles of Beer On the Wall…” to the tune of Erotica perhaps….
